Troutman History

The Town of Troutman NC was originally settled in 1853 by the Troutman family who made their living by crafting wagons and carriages with the beautiful forest trees which surrounded the Troutman area.  But the history of Troutman really got underway when the railroad was built in 1861, offering locals easier access to surrounding cities, people and freight cargo thus enabling the town to expand more easily.
